AAU IS BACK!! Here our a few players who stood out this weekend in my eyes.
Kiersten Johnson: Drive Nation 17u EYBL
The 2022 Forward scored the ball well in the open court and showed the ability to knock down shots off the pick and pop. Along with her offense She really impressed me with her ability to block shots and rebound the basketball. In the two games I saw she finished with a triple double in one and a double double in another. Believe me when I say Kiersten is one to keep an eye on.
Michayla Gatewood: Team Lex 17u Adidas Gauntlet
Gatewood is a 2022 Point guard who can control the pace of a game and get to her spots. This weekend she showed great composer and displayed an arsenal of moves that helped her get into her pull up jumper. In my opinion I believe she was one of the most consistent player this weekend.
Kendra Gillispie:Drive Nation 17u National
The 6'2 2021 F Kendra Gillispie was the most entertaining player to watch this weekend. At 6'2 she causes many mismatch problems for the opposing team. She can take bigs out to the perimeter as well as post them up. She also showed a nice handle and the ability to pass for her size.
Ayanna Thompson: Drive Nation 17u EYBL
2022 G Ayanna Thompson showed an elite catch and shoot game the second day hitting 5 threes in one game and 4 in the other. Along with her deep shooting she made a lot of plays in the open court as well.
Crislyn Rose:Drive Nation 16u EYBL
2023 G Crislyn Rose is an athletic Pg who is flashy yet efficient. She makes a lot of plays off the dribble and gets to the rim at will. She also made some big catch and shoot jumpers for her team. She really impressed me with her playmaking skills this weekend.
Aaliyah Holmes: Drive Nation 16u EYBL
2022 G Aaliyah Holmes showed a very confident Catch And Shoot game this weekend. She knocked down some clutch deep threes for Drive Nation finishing one game going 5 for 5 from three. Holmes is proving herself as a very elite efficient shooter.
Cammie McKinney :Texas Elite 17u Adidas Gauntlet
Cammie McKinney is 2022 Pg with a nice jumper. The lefty Pg made a lot of clutch buckets in big games getting to her pull-up jumper and getting to the free throw line at will. McKinney's move to Texas Elite is great for her development.
Isabella Earle: Texas Elite 17u Adidas Gauntlet
Isabella Earle is 2021 G who is a three level scorer. The Abilene Christian commit played extremely well on the offensive end this weekend scoring in bunches in every game. She also showed some very good off-ball defense this weekend as well.
Jasmine Shavers : Drive Nation 17u EYBL
2021 G Jasmine Shavers did what she does best. Put the ball in the bucket. Her scoring was streaky this weekend. Scoring most of her points in bunches at once. There were times where she scored 14 straight pts. Shavers found her groove this weekend finishing the tournament off with a 20 point per game avg.
Averee Kleinhans: Texas Magic 17u Adidas Gauntlet
2021 Pg Averee Kleinhans is a scoring point guard who has endless range. There were games this weekend were she scored almost 20 plus points in a half. She was very consistent in her play this weekend. I was very impressed..
Keeley Parks: Trae Young Elite 2025
2025 Pg Keeley Parks is a star in the making. Parks is three level scorer who takes over games. She played extremely well in a big team matchup with Jason Terry's Lady Drive Nation team finishing with 28 pts. Only an 8th grader sky is the limit for her.
Keziah Lofton: Lady Drive Nation 2025
Keziah Lofton as Jason Key would say " Has the potential to be UCONN good". The lefty 2025 G does everything on the floor, with her long wingspan. She gets a lot of rebounds. She showed a little of everything this weekend, shooing deep threes, using her speed and length to get by her defenders along with finding her teammates for open shots. Lofton has the potential to be the best player in the country in the next few years.
