Upnext Top 16 Players Watch

Summer Basketball Is Around The Corner And There Are 16 Players In The DFW Area Who I Think Will Have A Huge Summer.

Jasmine Shavers (Drive Nation)

The 2021 G can score on all levels and at 5'10 she is a mismatch problem for a lot of guards. Coming off an All-District Offensive MVP Junior Season, Shavers is on the right path to have a really big summer for Drive Nation. Shavers has already cut her list down to Texas Tech, Tennessee, Rutgers, Northwestern, North Carolina, Mississippi State, Kentucky, and Arizona.

Her Stock should sky rocket this summer.

Jazzy Owens (Proskills)

Jazzy Owens is a two-way Pg who uses her athleticism to takeover games. The 3 star 2022 guard proved to everybody she is a high major player by not only leading her team to the Texas 5A state title but winning state MVP as well. Owens holds offers from North Texas, Abilene Christian, Wichita State, UTSA, and many more. I feel this summer she will open the eyes of some power 5 schools.

Zoe Jackson (Texas U)

Zoe Jackson is a shifty Pg who normally makes plays off the dribble but showed a nice catch and shoot game this season. The 2021 Pg is a great pick up for Texas U, with the way Jackson can change speeds she's going to make a-lot of plays in the open court. Jackson Holds Offers from North Texas, UNCG, and has interest from the likes of Witchta State and Many Others. I think she will have a great summer season.

Portia Adams (Urban Heroes)

Portia Adams is a 2021 Crafty Pg with a nice handle and a nice Pull-up Jumper. She proved herself this season by helping her Cedar Hill LongHorns get to the Regional Finals. I think her game is going to translate well over to the summer and her name is going to blow. Adams is being Recruited by Vanderbilt, SFA, Louisiana Lafayette and many more.

Kendall McGruder (Proskills)

Kendall McGruder is a player who can do a little of everything on the offensive end, knock down shots from deep, get to her pull-up jumper. I've even seen her make plays from the high post. The 2021 G was rewarded All-District and All-State Honors. She holds offers from Houston, Tulsa, Arkansas Little Rock and many more.

Kiersten Johnson (Drive Nation)

Kiersten Johnson has the potential to be a top player in the 2022 class. Standing at 6'2 Johnson can shoot the three and has shown an improved handle, all while blocking shots on the defensive end. Her recruitment is starting to crank up after recently receiving offers from the likes of Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, and North Texas. Johnson is a player everyone needs to keep their eyes on.

Trinty White (Texas U)

Trinty White is a 2021 G who shoots the lights out and gets to her spots really well. The Butler Commit helped her team get to the state semi finals while earning All-District and All-State Honors. She will be one of the biggest pieces for Texas U's success.

Kendall Brown (Proskills)

Kendall Brown is a big guard who plays at her own pace. She has a nice pull-up jumper and catch and shoot game. Coming off an injury last summer the 2021 Houston Commit finished her season with All-State Honors and was apart of one of the best teams in the entire country in the Desoto Eagles. This summer she has a lot to prove and I think she's going to turn a lot of peoples heads.

Ayanna Thompson (Drive Nation)

Ayanna Thompson is a lanky All-Around guard who can shoot the midrange as well as get to the rim. The 4 star 2022 G has offers from Texas, Texas Tech, Howard, North Texas and many others. I feel this summer will be her coming out party as far as showing how dominate she really is.

Callie Cooper (DFW Elite)

2021 G Callie Cooper is a crafty Pg and is arguably one of the best facilitators in the state. I think she is the most improved player coming into the summer season. Cooper has an offer from Cornell and has interest from many others. DFW Elite is known for their elite Point Guards could Cooper be the next one.

Alisa Williams (Texas U)

Alisa Williams is a 6'2 Lefty forward who can do it all. Only a sophomore Williams is one of the most versatile players in the state regardless of class. She hold offers from Ohio State, TCU, Butler, Texas Tech and the list goes on. She finished with All-State Honors this year. I think she will do a little of everything for Texas U this year.

Logyn McNeil (Texas U)

Logyn McNeil is a 6'3 F who blocks shots at a high level. Last summer a lot of people could see the potential of the young sophomore. After McNeil's school season, I see what many people were saying. The 4 star LSU Commit finished with first team All-District honors and led her team in Pts, Rebs, and Blks. She's going to be the inside presence for Texas U this summer.

Madison Cockrell (Proskills)

Madison Cockrell is an athletic Pg who uses her speed to get to the rim at will. Proskills 16U will have an extremely athletic backcourt in Jazzy Owens and Madison Cockrell. The 2022 Pg was named TAPPS 2nd team All-State. She holds an offer from Lamar and is hearing from a lot of low and mid major schools. Keep an eye I think she will open a lot of eyes this summer.

Jamia Harris (Team Lex)

Jamia Harris is skilled G who can shoot the 3 ball at an elite level. The 2022 G was a valuable piece for Desoto this season. Harris was named District 7-6A Offensive MVP and made TABC All-Region team. She holds offers from Kansas State, Texas Tech, Wichita State, and the list goes on. I think she will impress a lot of ESPN voters and make her way into the Rankings list this summer.

Madison Ott (Drive Nation)

Madison Ott is a proficient Pg with a very nice jumper. The 2021 G has been picking up offers left and right in the past two months. Recently earning offers from North Dakota, UNLV, UTSA, Lipscomb, SFA, Fairfield, VCU, and Furman. Ott will be a valuable piece for Drive Nation this summer.

Mariah Roberts ( Proskills)

Mariah Roberts is an All-Around Pg who shows up in the bright lights. Roberts Avg 20 Pts, 4 Rebs, and 5 Ast. She took her team on a big playoff run and was named TABC All-State and All-Region. The 2021 Pg recruitment has been taking off recently receiving offers from LSU, North Texas, Wichita State, LA Tech, Tulsa , Old Dominion, UTA, Southern Miss, Texas State, UNLV, and South Alabama. Roberts has decided to run with Coach Taylor Johnston and Proskills. I think she turn a lot of heads for Proskills this summer.

There are so many players to watch this summer but these 16 are my favorites.
