Live Period Standouts

Updated: May 22, 2019

Queen Of The South and The PBR Exposure Plus Challenge were the two biggest live period events in the DFW this past weekend. There were a lot of players who made a name for themselves if they weren't very known.

MVP: Sarah Andrews (Proskills)

Sarah Andrews made everything look easy this weekend scoring from everywhere. She had the tournament high in points scoring 33 PTS in the Rivalry matchup against DFW Elite.

First Team :

Angel Reese (Team Takeover)

Angel Reese is an extremely versatile Forward who can push the pace off the rebound and can take you down in the post while knocking down short midrange jumpers.

Mir McLean (Team Takeover)

Mir McLean is a long two-way guard who has a nice motor and scores from all three levels she is a true competitor.

Trinity White (Texas U)

White was knocking down shots left and right she was a perimeter threat the whole weekend and also showed she can take defenders off the dribble and get to the rim.

Jasmine Shavers (Lady Drive Nation)

Shavers is a big guard who uses her size extremely well she knocked some big shots for Drive Nation hitting 5 3's in one game and 4 3's in another she also showed improvement on the boards.

Tamia Jones (Proskills)

Jones is the best on-ball defender in TX she displayed it all weekend pick pocketed people and getting stops needed for her team to win while showcasing a nice offensive skillset.

Second Team :

Iyana Dorsey (Texas U)

Dorsey was the most improved player of the weekend she showed a very improved perimeter game knocking down some clutch 3's she also showed an elite pull-up jumper getting to her spots and knocking down shots.

Hannah Gusters (Proskills)

Baylor Commit Hannah Gusters Dominated the paint as usual but she really impressed me with her consistency from the free-throw line and with her ability to block shots.

Jaaucklyn Moore (Austin Elite)

Moore is a score first guard with a nice pull-up game she gets where ever she wants on the court and is a player everyone should keep there eyes on.

Harmoni Turner (DFW Elite)

Turner is a two-way guard with a high motor who uses her elite level ball handling to get by defenders and make plays for her teammates.

Myra Gordon (Proskills)

Myra is a bigger guard who can score from all three levels she has a really nice pull-up jumper and can rebound the ball extremely well for her position

Nevaeh Tot (DFW Elite)

Tot showed a very improved jumper from the last time I saw her.She is a true pest on the defensive side. While doing all of that what stood out most was her ability to be a vocal leader on the floor.

Lanay Wheaton (SA Finest)

Wheaton is crafty guard who uses her ball handling to be very effective getting down hill to create for others and herself she also has a very solid catch and shoot jumper.

Ash'a Thompson (Lady Drive Nation)

Thompson is a bigger guard that is very physical and has a knack for knocking down pull-up jumpers and gets to her spots very well.

Honorable Mentions:

Kamryn Gibson (A.D. Elite)

Gibson plays mostly off the ball she looks for her pull-up jumper a lot and is a natural scorer in the open court.I believe her stock will rise this summer.

Elauna Eaton (DFW Elite)

Eaton is a pure scorer who can get buckets in bunches while throwing nice dimes to her teammates.

Laila Blair (DFW Elite)

Blair is a shifty guard that gets buckets, she showed the ability to get to the rim and knock down catch and shoot threes all weekend.

Jerkaila Jordan (Texas U)

Jordan is a natural athlete at the guard spot, she gets to the rim very easy and facilitates while doing so.

Grace Abercrombie (Texas U)

Abercrombie is a streaky shooter that can get hot in the blink of an eye she was a threat every time she stepped across half court this weekend.

Neaveah Parks(DFW Elite)

Parks is a big body low post presence who was a beast on the boards and showed an improved motor.

Zoe Nelson (Austin Elite)

Nelson only a sophomore is a very smooth guard with nice size. She can do a little of everything on the court I believe in a few years she has a chance to be a household name.
